Este miércoles, el FC Barcelona ha jugado en Hungría frente al Ferencváros su partido de Champions, con victoria culé por cero goles a tres. Lo más importante de estos enfrentamientos con el conjunto húngaro, lo vivimos en el partido disputado en Barcelona hace poco más de un mes, ya que ambos clubes rindieron un bonito homenaje a uno de los mejores jugadores de la historia del fútbol, que jugó en los dos equipos, y que no es otro que Ladislao Kubala. Para mí y para muchos, Kubala está en el «Olimpo» de los dioses de la historia del fútbol junto con Di Stéfano, Pelé, Cruyff y Maradona, esperando la llegada de Leo Messi, que ya tiene un sitio entre ellos.
Todo buen aficionado al fútbol conoce y admira la figura de Kubala, van aquí algunos datos del húngaro. Nació en Hungría, pero obtuvo también las nacionalidades checoeslovaca y española. Esto hizo que jugara en tres selecciones nacionales distintas, ya que en las décadas de los 50 y 60 era posible hacerlo con el cambio de nacionalidad. Su huida del comunismo hizo que recorriera numerosos países en su vida, viviendo incluso en Italia en un campo de refugiados, y vistiera la camiseta de numerosos equipos, además de las tres selecciones nacionales con las que jugó. Sus clubes fueron el Ferencváros, Slovan de Bratislava, Vasas de Budapest, Aurora Pro Patria 1919, Hungaria, FC Barcelona, por el que fichó un 15 de junio de 1950 llegado de la mano de Josep Samitier, y terminó su carrera como futbolista en el Espanyol.
En el Barça formó parte de la mítica delantera formada por él junto a Cesar, Moreno, Manchón y Basora, y del mítico equipo que ganó el mismo año «las cinco copas». Coincidió también en el club con históricos como Czibor, Kocsis, Ramallets, Luis Suárez o Evaristo, disputando desde 1950 a 1962, 256 partidos oficiales con el Barça, y anotando 194 goles, llegando a marcar 7 goles en un mismo partido de liga frente alSporting de Gijón. Con el FC Barcelona ganó numerosos títulos, entre los que destacan 4 ligas, 5 copas, 1 Copa Latina y 2 Copas de Ferias.
También fue entrenador del Barça, Espanyol, Málaga, Elche, Murcia o Córdoba entre otros, y seleccionador de España, Paraguay y Arabia Saudí, siendo su mayor éxito, al lado de Vicente Miera, el oro olímpico conseguido por la selección española en los juegos de Barcelona´92. 
Más allá de los fríos datos, está lo que «Laszy» significó para el fútbol mundial, y para el FC Barcelona en particular. Coincidió en el tiempo con Di Stéfano y Puskás, que eran las figuras del Real Madrid de la época. Era un media punta espectacular, fuerte como él solo, habilidoso, con una visión de juego fuera de lo común, goleador, y un especialista en los lanzamientos de penalty y faltas. Hoy que apenas hace unos días nos dejó Maradona, y que tan de moda está el freestyle en el fútbol, Kubala maravillaba al mundo con sus malabares con un balón en los pies en los entrenamientos y calentamientos. Cuando hoy en día vemos a las grandes estrellas mundiales haciendo anuncios para vender natillas, colonias o calzoncillos, recordar queKubala hizo hasta películas. Que, para ver a este futbolista, se tuvo que construir un estadio tan inmenso como es el Camp Nou porque había «tortas» para entrar al campo y verlo, o que el mismísimo Joan Manuel Serrat escribió en su honor la canción «Temps era temps».
Si alguno de vosotros nunca habéis visto jugar a Kubala, os recomiendo que os pongáis como locos a buscar videos de él por internet, no os arrepentiréis, y podréis intuir una mínima parte de lo grande que ha sido este hombre para el fútbol. Creo que cuando se habla del mejor jugador de la historia del fútbol, se comete numerosas veces una gran injusticia no incluyendo en esos análisis o comentarios a Kubala. Él fue, junto a Di Stéfano, el primer crack mundial. Ladislao Kubala ha sido, es, y será siempre, el primer crack del Barça.
